North Bund International Green Technology Cooperation Framework Initiativee

In 2015, President Xi Jinping and the leaders of various countries signed the “UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development” and promised to take active measures to achieve 17 goals and promote the sustainable development of human society. Nowadays, green sustainable development has become the base of China’s economic and social construction and an important component of the five development concepts of “innovation, coordination, green, openness and sharing”. Green Technology Bank has come into being in this context.

About North Bund International Green Technology Cooperation Framework Initiativen

As an important measure for China to implement the UN’s 2030 sustainable development agenda, Green Technology Bank takes Hongkou as the main carrier and builds a comprehensive service platform combining technology and finance to promote the application and development of green technologies to support sustainable development. To achieve this goal, relying on the advantages of financial agglomeration in the North Bund, Green Technology Bank proposed to launch the North Bund International Green Technology Cooperation Framework Initiative.

The initiative aims to develop green technologies and jointly promote the internationalization, standardization, industrialization, datamation and financialization of global green technologies with international win-win cooperation. The initiative calls for domestic and international universities, research institutes, enterprises, non-government institutions, financial institutions and other innovative entities to break through non-technical barriers to jointly promote global green technology development, build a fair and collaborative green technology innovation ecosystem and provide professional support of technique, standard, industrial policy, information, financial capital and intelligence to achieve sustainable development.

The initiative is initiated by Green Technology Bank Management Center and implemented by Shanghai Hongkou Green Industry Development Institute. All parties are encouraged to form agglomeration effect and cooperative promotion mechanism at the headquarter base of Green Technology Bank.

Yuan Quan, deputy head of Hongkou District, said in a speech on behalf of the Hongkou District Party Committee and the district government that the event is an in-depth discussion and active implementation of the green development strategy, which is of great significance to the development of green industry in Hongkou District of Shanghai. In the future, Hongkou will focus on the green technology bank and follow the layout of “Headquarters + One Circle, One Street, One Park” to create a green technology innovation factor gathering demonstration zone.

Director Wang Zhen issued an initiative

Director Wang Zhen of the Green Technology Bank Management Center released the “North Bund International Green Technology Cooperation Framework Initiative”, which advocated international cooperation and win-win as the goal to develop green technologies and jointly promote global green technology internationalization and standardization. Industrialization, data and financialization are the tenets. This initiative was initiated by the Green Technology Bank and implemented by the Shanghai Hongkou Green Industry Development Center. It encourages all parties to form agglomeration effects and synergy promotion mechanisms at the headquarters of the Greentech Bank.

As the first international and domestic partner organization to join this initiative, Farley Investment (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. (Buiwei International Testing and Testing Group), BRE British Building Research Institute, Suzhou Qishuguan Economic and Technological Development Zone Management Committee, Cathay Pacific Canal (Suzhou) Investment and Development Co., Ltd., Shanghai Environmental Energy Exchange Co., Ltd., Tongji University School of Environmental Science and Engineering, Luzhihui (Shanghai Huilu E-Commerce Co., Ltd.), and other seven institutions signed an initiative with Shanghai Hongkou The Green Industry Development Center signed a memorandum of cooperation.
